The original footrests on the BMW R65, R80, and R100 are positioned relatively far forward. In addition to the unusual seating position, the space between the carburetor and the footrest is very limited. To create enough clearance, BMW offset the right and left footrests by approx. 40mm. Despite this, riders with larger feet still hit the carburetor float chambers.
The SE complete footrest system for Monolever models is designed for a comfortable seating posture and increases the distance between the seat and the footrest. This provides a wider leg angle and, consequently, a more relaxed seating position. The position of the footrests can be varied in four settings.
